Seven Christopher Nolan films are coming to 4K in December.
In an early announcement to retailers Warner Bros. is prepping a Christopher Nolan Collection for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on December 19. The box set will include Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar, The Prestige, Inception, and Dunkirk for a suggested retail price of $149.99. (UPDATE: directly from Warners, the seven-movie Nolan Collection does NOT include Digital Copies, but the individual releases will all have Digital Copies.)
In addition, Warner Bros. will release Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, and Dunkirk as separate 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs as well. Likewise, a Dark Knight Trilogy box set will be available for a suggested retail price of $70.99 (though Best Buy currently lists it as $89.99). Meanwhile, Disney will offer The Prestige as a separate 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and Paramount will offer Interstellar as a separate 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.
"4K Ultra HD with HDR is an incredibly exciting new home video format that allows a much closer recreation of viewing the original film print," said Christopher Nolan. "The deeper color palette comes closer to matching the analogue colors of film and we’ve restored the original theatrical mixes for this release. If you can't rewatch these films in the theater, this is the best experience you can have in your own home."
All of the films will feature 2160p video with HDR and DTS-HD MA soundtracks. Blu-ray discs with the seven movies in HD along with behind-the-scenes content and special features will be included as well.
You can find the latest specs for all of the movies listed above linked from our 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Release Schedule, where they are indexed under December 19.
