Danny Boyle's 'T2: Trainspotting' Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray Announced[teaser]The crime-comedy sequel will be available on both formats this summer. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Sony is preparing 'T2: Trainspotting' for Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray on June 27. First there was an opportunity......then there was a betrayal. Twenty years have gone by. Much has changed but just as much remains the same. Mark Renton (Ewan McGregor) returns to the only place he can ever call home. They are waiting for him: Spud (Ewen Bremner), Sick Boy (Jonny Lee Miller), and Begbie (Robert Carlyle). Other old friends are waiting too: sorrow, loss, joy, vengeance, hatred, friendship, love, longing, fear, regret, diamorphine, self-destruction and mortal danger, they are all lined up to welcome him, ready to join the dance. Daniel Espinosa's 'Life' Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray Dated and Supplements Detailed [UPDATED)[teaser]The science fiction thriller starring Ryan Reynolds, Rebecca Ferguson and Jake Gyllenhaal is arriving on both formats in June. 'Léon: The Professional' and 'The Fifth Element' Prepped for 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray[teaser]A pair of Luc Besson classics will be getting the 4K Ultra HD treatment in July. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Sony is working on 'Léon: The Professional' for Ultra HD Blu-ray on July 11. A corrupt Drug Enforcement Administration boss and his thugs murder Mathilda's family in a drug deal gone awry. Orphaned by the massacre, Mathilda is forced to take shelter in the apartment of a neighbor, Léon, whom she knows only slightly. He's a loner and first generation immigrant, who also happens to be a professional hitman. He's never had reason to care about anybody and she has no one else to turn to. Together they form a makeshift bond that will forever change both their lives. Sony is also preparing to bring 'The Fifth Element' to Ultra HD Blu-ray on the same date. [/teaser] As reported on The Digital Bits, Sony is working on David Lean's 'The Bridge on the River Kwai' for Ultra HD Blu-ray sometime later this year. When British P.O.W.s build a vital railway bridge in enemy-occupied Burma, Allied commandos are assigned to destroy it in David Lean's epic World War II adventure The Bridge On The River Kwai. Spectacularly produced, The Bridge On The River Kwai captured the imagination of the public and won seven 1957 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Alec Guinness), and Best Director. Even its theme song, an old WWI whistling tune, the "Colonel Bogey March," became a massive wordwide hit. The Bridge On The River Kwai continues today as one of the most memorable cinematic experiences of all time. Paramount is also preparing Francis Ford Coppola's 'The Godfather' for Ultra HD Blu-ray. The Godfather, starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan and Talia Shire, tells an epic tale of Mafia life in America during the '40s and '50s. Vito Corleone (Brando) is the family patriarch balancing a love of his family with an ambitious criminal instinct.
