Will be playable early via EA Access.
Even though I've already enjoyed playing as Yarney via demonstrations, it's pretty exciting to find out both that 'Unravel' will be released on February 9th, and that it will be playable early on the Xbox One via EA Access.
'Unravel' is of course, the work of Coldwood Interactive which debuted so memorably at E3 2015. The EA published and funded game is a narrative platformer, which relies on a sophisticated physics model rather than scripted mechanics. Yarney can unravel his body in order to navigate and solve puzzles, and hopefully, reach the next ball of yarn needed to play.
Yarney is immediately iconic, and the gameplay is quite fun thanks to the physics and the puzzles. The game is definitely not all smiles; however, there are some dour themes at work, and Yarney himself gets dragged through the rain and mud.
'Unravel' is due out on February 9th on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and is priced at $19.99.
