"we don't start cutting corners at this point."
For fans of the series, or platformers, or co-op games, indie games, or games that emphasize fun and skill, 'N++' is one of the biggest PS4 exclusives on the horizon. Today, developer Metanet confirmed that the game will be playable at this weekend's PlayStation Experience. This is good news. Further good news is that the team has developed some 2000 levels and is working on getting that down to 1000 levels for the game's release. Furthermore, an end-user level editor has been created, though is not yet finished.
While this is all good news, and the team's description of making levels and arranging them in sensible but challenging ways is fascinating (see here), there is a cost.

At seems that 'N++' is still several months away from release. The team is looking to do another month of level design, followed by a month of culling the levels down into their arranged presentation. After which, localization, testing, and the wrap-up for features like level editor can be executed.
From Metanet, "The good news is that it's definitely only a matter of months now; the bad news is that it's 'months' rather than 'month.'"
Though the delay, which could easily slip into summer of 2015, might be troubling for impatient fans, the good news is that the team seems committed to releasing a finished product, which is extremely important for a game that looks to have a large online co-op component.
