Telltale continues to work with some of the biggest properties in entertainment, ('Game of Thrones,' 'TWD,' 'Borderalnds,' etc.), but with today's giant, there is the challenge of introducing narrative to a property nearly synonymous with free-form. With 'Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series' Episode 1: 'The Order of the Stone,' Telltale is creating a huge cast of characters for a property who previously had... Creepers.
And what a cast.
There's Patton Oswalt as male Jesse, Catherine Taber as female Jesse, Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Dave Fennoy, Corey Feldman, Billy West, John Hodgman, and Paul Reubens.
See the cast talk about the story in the following launch trailer:
'The Order of the Stone' is hitting, PC, Mac, PS4, and PS3 today. Xbox One & 360 follow tomorrow while Android, iOS, and Amazon will be later this week.
'The Order of the Stone' will be the first episode of a five episode series. Even though the other four episodes will be released over 2016, Telltale will be offering a boxed retail version, the 'Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Pass Disc,' (PS4, Xbox One, PS4, & 360) starting on October 27th in North America. This version will have the first episode on disc, and will provide access to the other episodes as they are released.
