"I have seen what the hive call a god."
Leading up to next week's launch, Bungie continues to drop info about the upcoming 'Destiny' expansion, 'Destiny Expansion I: The Dark Below.' Today, viewers get a long look at a montage of gameplay including the story, the new Crucible levels, the strike, the Raid, Eris, the new gear, the already out Blade of Crota, and more.
This begs the question, is this expansion content, really the right next step for Bungie? The developer has said that the expansion (and recent changes) have been built around fan feedback, but the reality is that this expansion was funded and organized months ago. A second expansion, 'House of Wolves' is due out in six months, and it to has long been planned and conceptually mapped out. Many players already own both new expansions, which will makes sales a less obvious indicator of reception. Still, the entire idea of a ten year game would seem to rest on a trip to the moon, which most 'Destiny' players have done hundreds of times already. Hopefully, what's in the 'The Dark Below' will justify its price and help with the idea of 'Destiny' sticking around. Come next Tuesday, 'The Dark Below' will be put to the test.
