Own a PS4 and have PS Plus, this is your free version.
Back in the lead-up to the launch of the PS4, when 'DriveClub' was still a launch title, Sony, in a move likely to get more players involved in the online mode of a new franchise on a new platform, promised that there would be a free PlayStation Plus version of 'DriveClub.' Though the game was ultimately delayed and only resurfaced recently, the PS Plus version has remained as a promise to still be fulfilled.
As it turns out, with the game still several months away from release, the plan for the PS Plus version of 'DriveClub' falls pretty squarely between a demo and a full game. From Game Director Paul Rustchynsky, "The PlayStation Plus Edition hasn’t changed. It’s hardly a demo because you get access to all of the game’s features online and offline. The difference is that you only have 10 cars and you can only race in one country (which gives you access to 5 tracks with 11 distinct variants)."
For many PS4 players, the PS Plus version of 'DriveClub' will suffice, and at least initially the inclusion of so many players should bolster the online community. For serious racing fans though, this is mroe like a try before buy situation.
