Clear your schedule.
There are numerous folks out there who didn't catch the Beta, weren't weaseled into the multiplayer sensation by friends, didn't catch a copy falling off a truck who have yet to find themselves playing 'Overwatch' at ay point in the last few months. Well, this weekend, Blizzard would like to invite the rest of you folks to jump on the hype train.
Right this very second, PS4 and Xbox One owners currently have the ability to download a little thing from their respective stores called 'Overwatch: Free Edition'. It's a full-fledged version of the game, with all 22 heroes, 13 maps, and ton of modes to play around with completely free all weekend. Well, mostly free: Xbox folks do have to have a Gold subscription.
Still, this is a tremendous chance to put some serious time into the game, decide if it's worth the full $60 wallet suck. Even better, if you do decide it's worth it, any upgrades, leveling, loot crates, customization items, and progress made in this version of the game will, in fact, carry over to the full version. The free edition will remain open for business until 4PM Pacific on Monday. Go nuts.
