Game shelved after Kickstarter failure.
There was a hot minute last year where it seemed like every fantastic sounding indie title was being spearheaded by someone who worked on a 'Bioshock' game, and one of the more ambitious ones was Day For Night's 'The Black Glove', about a mysterious arcade machine that allowed a player to jump back in time, and influence the work of history's greatest artists. Unfortunately, the game's Kickstarter failed, and after six months of fighting, project head Joe Fielder announced today in a statement that the game's been shelved.
In the statement, Fielder says after the Kickstarter, a demo was created and shopped around at GDC and PAX East, but it never wentt any further: "We garnered some interest, but didn’t find the perfect glass slipper we were looking for and, understandably, began to lose key people to full-time work elsewhere."
Fielder does reinforce that the game is not 100% dead, however, and that Day For Night "[intends] to return to The Black Glove later when we can do it right."
For now, we'll always have that fantastic proof-of-concept trailer:
