A new take on the 1990 Nintendo World Championship.
'NES Remix 2' due is just two weeks, and Nintendo has announced that in addition to other new features, the game will also see the debut of Championship Mode.
Inspired by the 1990 Nintendo World Championship, Championship Mode challenges players with a series of three successive score-based challenges, all for a total cumulative score, which can then be posted to Miiverse. The three titles featured in Championship Mode include 'Super Mario Bros.,' which was one of the three titles in 1990, 'Super Mario Bros. 3,' and 'Dr. Mario.'
There is just one catch, in order to access Championship Mode, players must own both 'NES Remix 2' and December's 'NES Remix.'
From the High-Def Digest review of December's 'NES Remix:'
"Remix stages do exactly as advertised, taking those classic gems and implementing some sort of twist, which should throw off even the most hardened veterans. Massive Bullet Bills might invade a classic 'Super Mario Bros.' level or Link himself might be tasked with felling the titular villain in 'Donkey Kong.'"
