Bungie details what's changing in August.

Bungie, God bless em, kept 'Destiny' on previous gen consoles on content parity for so much longer than logic prevailed, but on the heels of the bomb during E3 that 90% of the game's players have made the jump to PS4/Xbox One, the gravy train is officially about to slow to a crawl for 360/PS3 players. And today, Bungie has detailed how, in a rather extensive guide to all things gameplay in 'Destiny'.

Here's the nutshell version: 360/PS3 players--playing on what Bungie now refers to as "Legacy Consoles"--will still get the usual cavalcade of Daily/Weekly Strikes and Crucible Challenges. The currently available Raids, the Prison of Elders, and the Test Weapons from the Gunsmith will also stay intact. Content from 'The Taken King' will still be available. Xur will still show up on Fridays, although he'll only be selling encrypted Engrams and consumables from August onward. Aaaand the good news stops right about there.

As announced, of course, 'Rise of Iron' won't be going previous gen, but from August onward, the weekly Trials of Osiris, the Iron Banner, and all Live Events will stop happening too. The Eververse Silver Company will lose much of its functionality as it concerns in-game/store ability to purchase Silver. They do still sell Silver gift cards at Best Buy/Gamestop, however, and those will still work, and you can still earn emotes and the like from activities, but that's about it. From there, the short version is that any progress you make, any events that happen will no longer be shared between both previous and current gen.

The full rundown of changes, and the skinny on how to get your character to jump ship to PS4/Xbox One can be found here.  You might wanna get cracking on a next gen system, though. Winter's coming.
