The stylish Wi-Fi multi-room speakers feature sleek, minimalist designs.
Urbanears has announced its entry into the home audio market with the introduction of its new Stammen and Baggen Connected Speakers. Both models offer robust connectivity options and multi-room audio support.
"Urbanears is all about bringing people closer to technology," says Oscar Axhede, co-founder and creative director at Urbanears. "We wanted to create a listening experience that would bring the best of sound and connectivity into people's homes, without the hassle of trying to figure out how to make the technology work."
The Stammen and Baggen Connected Speakers both use advanced Wi-Fi technology with support for Spotify Connect, Airplay, or Chromecast built-in streaming, along with Bluetooth connectivity and a classic aux cord hookup. Likewise, two or more units can be linked together for multi-room audio with distinct or synchronized playback. In addition, the speakers feature a unique minimalized design wrapped in acoustically transparent fabric with a simple two knob control system for volume, playback, and selecting one of seven presets which users can customize with Spotify playlists or Internet Radio stations. An app is also available for more advanced functions like speaker groupings and equalizer settings.
The bigger Baggen model is geared toward use in larger spaces like big living rooms, patios, and open-floor-plan homes. Meanwhile, the more compact Stammen model is geared toward use in small to mid-sized spaces like bedrooms and studio apartments.
Urbanears' Stammen ($350) and Baggen ($450) Connected Speakers will be available for purchase starting March 30 through urbanears.com and select retailers. Models will come in six color variations, including Dirty Pink, Vinyl Black, Plant Green, Concrete Grey, Goldfish Orange, and Indigo Blue.
