After the big reveal of 'Watch Dogs,' in 2012, Ubisoft geared up an even bigger reveal in 2013 with 'Tom Clancy's The Division,' a third-person shooter in one aspect and a 100% social open-word RPG experience in another. 'Tom Clancy's The Division' has been the labor of Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment, but today, Ubisoft announced that veteran shooter developer, Red Storm, was being brought onto the project to supplement development.
Red Storm has recently been associated with developing the troubled 'Tom Clancy's Rainbow 6: Patriots,' which was last said to be undergoing a next-gen reset. On 'Tom Clancy's The Division,' Red Strom's role on 'The Division' has been described as delivering art assets for "realistic and common weapons." This aid may have to do with the localities of each developer. Massive is located in Malmo, Sweden, while Red Storm is in Cary, North Carolina. Red Storm is described as utilizing connections with local military and regional weapon manufactures as part of their art prodcution and in order to achieve the authenticy of the 'Tom Clancy' brand. When it coems to the incorporation of the weapons in gameplay, Massive controls the implementation as part of their overall gameplay direction.
