Three new 4K projector models have been unveiled.

Sony has announced the latest additions to its home theater projector lineup. The new lineup includes the entry-level VW295ES, mid-range VW665ES, and premium VW995ES.

"Sony has led the 4K projector market since 2005 by providing models that all include full 4K resolution imagers on all three color channels, delivering 24 million pixels on screen at every instant," said Mike Fasulo, president and chief operating officer of Sony Electronics. "Our newest 4K home cinema projectors set a new standard for features and performance, and the result is an amazing viewing experience."

All three models feature 4K Motionflow technology, HDR support, and 4K 60P 10bit processing. Likewise, all three projectors have been IMAX Enhanced certified. The IMAX Enhanced certification & licensing program is designed to offer premium 4K HDR and immersive audio performance across home theater gear and content.

The entry-level VPL-VW295ES is a 1,500 lumen lamp-based projector with a native 4K SXRD panel, HDMI 18 Gbps compatibility, 4K Motionflow, HDR support, a new input lag reduction mode, and Vertical Stretch for 4K signals.

Meanwhile, the VPL-VW695ES features 1,800 lumens of brightness through a UHP lamp, along with a Picture Position Memory feature and a high dynamic contrast of 350,000:1 via Sony's Advanced Iris technology.

Finally, the premium VPL-VW995ES 4K laser light source projector uses Sony's All Range Crisp Focus (ARC-F) lens and "Digital Focus Optimizer." In addition, the unit features support for 2,200 lumens and a high dynamic contrast through a dual-contrast control engine with dynamic laser control and Advanced Iris technology.

The VPL-VW295ES ($4,999.99) and the VPL-VW695ES projector ($9,999.99) are set to launch in October. Meanwhile, the VPL-VW995ES projector ($34,999.99) will be available in November 2018.
