Seems like a great move.
Three years, and three 'Disney Infinity' games. That trend changes in 2016 as Disney has announced that the company will continue to release major 'Disney Infinity 3.0' content and fans will not need to anything beyond '3.0' to be able to purchase and use this new content.
And yes, this is pretty significant stuff. 'Zootopia,' 'Marvel Battlegrounds,' and 'The Jungle Book' top the list of new stuff coming in 2016.
Honestly, this is such a welcome move. Originally, Disney had pitched 'Disney Infinity' as a platform, but the yearly releases are tough ask (as all yearly releases tend to be). New fans can be confident that '3.0' is the way to go all through 2016.
