Worthy of more, even VR.
Nvidia has been making big waves in PC gaming since, well, ever, but more recently it has been the Pascal line of cards, the GeForce GTX 1080, 1070, 1060, and Titan X that have completely raised the bar. And now, with a new philosophy in place, Nvidia has chosen to launch the GeForce GTX 1080, 1070, and 1060 once more, but for gaming laptops.
It's not just an announcement either, these GPUs are featured in an array of new gaming notebooks and can be bought right now.
Now to be clear, these aren't exactly equivalent to the desktop versions, but they are much closer than the cards of the past (thus there are no "M" designations). Notebooks with these GPUs are being made with power and heat considerations in mind, but Nvidia is letting the OEM and custom notebooks makers do overclocking on these GPUs, which is a very telling thing. The new Battery Boost feature looks to specifically try to help balance power and performance on the go.
With these GPUs, Nvidia is not only enabling notebook gaming with top-level GPU performance, but also new tech, like the Nvidia Ansel capture system and the VR Ready VRWorks tech. The G-Sync abilities (when paired with the right display) are also going up (think 2560 x 1440 120 Hz with G-Sync).
Among the full rollout, XOTIC PC is offering GeForce GTX 10-series powered notebooks from MSI, Asus, Gigabyte, and more in custom configurations. (See here.)
