Adult Swim Games are publishing this funky adventure.
If Wednesday morning was feeling a little more funkier than usual, it's probably due to Adult Swim Games announcing that they will be publishing 'ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove.' The fourth game in the 'ToeJam & Earl' series has the duo accidentally creating a black hole, and finding themselves stranded with a disassembled rocket ship. Similar to 1991's 'ToeJam & Earl,' they now must once again search for pieces of their ship so they can get off of Earth.
Developed by Humanature Studios, which is headed up by 'ToeJam & Earl' designer Greg Johnson, 'Back in the Groove' was successfully crowdfunded in March of 2015. The game raised over $500,000 and hit several strecth goals resulting in multiple playable characters, including Latishia and Earl's mom.
To celebrate the publishing deal, Adult Swim Games put out the first gameplay footage of 'Back in the Groove.' Check it out below:
While 'ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove' failed to reach its stretch goal for a console release, Adult Swim Games says the game will release on "PC and console" in 2017.
