It's like the Wild West but with way more powerful guns. And not enough horses.
Ubisoft has released a new video that provides some new information about the Dark Zone, a PvP area in 'The Division.'
In the video, Fredrik Rundqvist—executive producer for the upcoming 'Tom Clancy' title—talks more about the mechanics of the free-for-all capabilities that the stage includes and the consequences players can face if they don't play nice. The Dark Zone contains the game's best loot, but it's heavily guarded, encouraging players to work together. Players can decide to "go rogue" and try to take all the best loot for themselves, but all other players will be alerted when they do. The game even puts an extra bounty on the rogue's head, incentivizing players to go after the more selfish or ambitious members of the community.
Once players have their fill of good equipment, they can signal for an extraction by shooting a flare. Other enemies in the area can see the flare too, though, and they know that it means that good loot is about to get away. Players have 90 seconds after calling an extraction to defend their claim and secure their new gear.
