General release should be expected soon.
Microsoft has unleashed a new firmware update for Xbox One controllers on preview program participants. This update comes as part as the preview build 1502.150120, and promises a mix of vague and solid improvements. This is the first such update since last March, so while the notes may be light, users should be hopeful.
Personally, I think Quick Connect is great change, but I'm really hoping this update solves the issue of the controller not always being able to turn on the Xbox One.
Here are the updates:
Quick Connect – previous controller connections to an Xbox One took 4-5 seconds when powering on a controller, now they should occur in ~2 seconds
Stability improvements – the firmware also provides a number of fixes that address issues submitted by customers and preview participants
