Combat and art style looking good.
Developer Ninja Theory has a history a cult titles, including 'Heavenly Sword' and 'Enslaved.' But while the combat and the style of their games make them memorable, the cult status means troublesome launches for games that only find their audience later. Such is the plight for many AAA developers who aren't owned by major publishers. (Obsidian and Platinum Games come to mind.)
With 'Hellblade,' Ninja Theory is looking to make a mark on the PS4 & PC, and to do so, the developer is leveraging their game style. That means flowing melee combat, and plenty of visual flair. The current progress of 'Hellblade' as it winds its way to 2016 is on display in a new behind the scenes video.
'Hellblade' stars a Celtic goddess, and here world is well, dirty. As in, earth dirty. But mixed in with the dirty wilderness are fantastic elements, among which is some very intriguing swordplay. That plus some surreal "visual feast" elements make 'Hellblade' one to follow.
