Needs more polish.
It's not even yet 2016, and already the release dates are getting pushed. Today, it's 'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.' In a statement from Neil Druckmann, Creative Director, and Bruce Straley, Game Director, the new release date was announced. 'Uncharted 4' is now set for April 26th, 2016. (27th for PAL, and 29th for the UK.)
Naturally, the team at Naughty Dog, having just concluded at multiplayer beta, and trying to put a bow on the game before taking some end of the year time off was in position to decide if the game was on a track for the March date. According to the statement, this, the largest 'Uncharted' game to date, needs extra resources on it to get several key sequences the polish passes needed prior to release.
Also included in the statement is an apology for the delay. "To you, our loyal fans, we hope you’ll accept our sincere apology. We know many of you have been waiting patiently for Nathan Drake’s final chapter, and now we humbly ask you to wait a bit longer."
When it comes to release dates, spring has more flex in it than say, the fall or winter. A six week delay is relatively minor, and the game remains a spring 2016 title.
