'Defenders' free for season pass owners.
Housemarque's PS4 launch title 'Resogun' has been like a gift that keeps on giving for early PS4 owners. The final expansion pack 'Resogun Defenders' is set to arrive on February 17th, but today, the free update, 'Resogun Challengers' is available to all. This update is described as the "largest content update to date." With the free update, the game now has a new levelling system built around Challenge points. Challenges are specific, such as "can you rescue 200 humans in a single level if every enemy drops one" or "can you complete survival mode using the Super Stardust Ship?"
Meanwhile, this new update will add Feats, Human Gallery, and Photo mode. Feats are built around aggregate goals and achieving those goals will yield specific rewards. Human Gallery is a way to view rescued humans, and Photo Mode is just a special way to capture the awesomeness on screen.
'Resogun Defenders' will add both Protector and Commando modes to the game, and these modes are meant to push the desperation of the game's setting to the max.
From XDEV,
Protector Mode sees you taking to the skies to defend one of the last human colonies remaining. Utilize all new power-ups including Super Boost, Teleport, and automatic city defences; take down the enemy and deliver as many of the last humans to each city in order to extend your grip on the planet. Protector Mode features an all new planet flip mechanic and environmental hazards such as volcanic meteors to avoid while fighting off the never-ending enemy invasion.
Commando mode lets you play as the Last Human who was left behind. Stranded on a distant planet with only a mini-gun to defend him he takes the fight directly to the Sentients in the ultimate arcade revenge mode. Jump, boost and equip your favorite bandana as you aim to defend your home from waves of enemies, volcanic meteors and more in this all new mode.
The expansion is priced at $4.99, but is included in the $7.99 Season Pass.
