Aim-bots beware.
Blizzard's team shooter 'Overwatch' is a little more than a week out from launch, and the publisher is giving all players a fair warning about what awaits those who try to play unfairly.
In a blog post, a Blizzard community manager spelled out that 'Overwatch' players who are found to be cheating, hacking, or otherwise using third-party software to try to get an artificial leg up on the other players will face a permanent ban from the game, plain and simple.
The post continues by giving players an email address which they can use to report those they believe to be cheating. There will also be a "report" menu in the actual game client that players can use.
Blizzard warns that in-game playback footage can sometimes cause player movements to snap, giving the appearance of unfair gameplay when, in fact, it was just a glitch of the replay. The publisher notes that community-captured footage, though helpful, will never be the sole criterion by which cheaters are identified.
