This is happening.
Today, Square Enix unleashed an array of 'Final Fantasy XV' info. Starting at the top, the game has gone gold, that ought to mean no more delays and that the game will make its November 29th release date.
And with the main game dialed in, "development will now shift towards the creation of the Season Pass DLC." And just what is planned for the $24.99 season pass? It appears that the rest of Noctis' party will get their own DLC episodes. Each of Noctis' comrades will be playable in their own episode, which means three in total. These episodes are set during the events of the game and will feature "previously unseen areas filled with new monsters" and "weapons that can later be used in the main game."
The three character episodes in order are:
Episode Gladiolus
Episode Ignis
Episode Prompto
The next piece of DLC is, however, different. In 'Comrades,' there will be a new online co-op mode where up to four players can form up as Noctis' party.
All four of these DLC pieces will be available for individual DLC purchase as well as being in the Season Pass.
