The New 3DS LL set to take the 3DS XL's place.
This past fall, Nintendo introduced the Nintendo 3DS and 3DS LL to Japan. While the new models host a nice set of upgrades, the can still be considered an incremental update to the current 3DS and 3DS XL. And yet, it seems that the days of the 3DS XL are numbered.
According to Nintendo's Japanese 3DS homepage (as reported by Siliconera) the 3DS XL will be "ending production soon," and that notice applies to all seven current colors. The new models have been selling like hot cakes, and this move will hopefully speed up the introduction of the New 3DS models to the West.
