It's been a long time.
Back in 2009, what many consider the last great 'Red Faction' title was released. Today, Nordic Games, the publisher now in charge of many of THQ's past franchises, released an update to the Steam version of 'Red Faction Guerilla.' This update follows a month of beta testing, and while the biggest change is the swap in of Steamworks and swap out of Games For Windows Live, there is a whole list of new additions that should help make the game relevant again. By the way, it just so happens that the game is on sale for $2.99 as part of Steam's Midweek Madness (85% off the normal price, order here).
From Nordic Games, here is everything that's new for the Steam Edition of 'Red Faction Guerilla.'
Steam Edition Feature Highlights:
Added Steam Trading Cards
DirectX 11 Render Backend instead of DirectX 10 (DirectX 9 still available as a fall-back option)
Added Wrecking Crew maps: RUINS, REPERCUSSION, IMPERIAL, EXPANSION, FROST, ABANDONED
Added Behemoth Mode (= Wrecking Crew Mode with Mechs)
Matchmaking and Multiplayer via Steamworks
