Two weeks.
More so than any other 'Halo,' (even '2',) the story for 'Halo 5: Guardians' has been building, and teased and stoked for years. The result is that I can't wait to get into the game's campaign. And when I do, I hope to go online with a co-op partner. With a manhunter on hand, 'Halo 5' looks to be the best way for new players to penetrate the franchise's narrative.
With two weeks to go until the official launch, the wait is close to unbearable. The Xbox One is almost two years old, but with the way that development works, it means that now is the time that games built with the hardware in mind begin to show. 'Halo 5' is such a game, and taking the role of Spartan Locke in conjunction with Fireteam Osiris is an excellent way to experience what out to be a tour de force game.
Of course, there will also be the online multiplayer, which will launch with 20 maps with 15 more promised as free additions over the next seven months.
More important to me is the Warzone mode, which brings together the best of the campaign and the Arena combat into a team-based full-on 24 player deployment. I've played enough Warzone already to know it's going to be a huge hit. (It could be a game on its own.)
