EA is going to allow Xbox One owners access to a collection of its games for a subscription fee of $5 a month. Simply put, they're Netlifxing their catalogue of Xbox One games, though the selection will by no means be wide. They're starting with 'Battlefield 4,' 'Peggle 2,' Madden NFL 25' and 'FIFA 14.' Here's EA on the new, unprecedented program, called EA Access:
"The service is being rolled out in beta to a limited number of players today, but it will launch for everyone on Xbox One soon. At EA, we are always looking for new ways to make it easier for gamers to play more EA games across all platforms, and we are excited about what EA Access will offer to players on Xbox One.
EA Access membership unlocks The Vault, a collection of EA’s biggest games on Xbox One ready for you to download and play. During the beta, gamers will have unlimited access to four great EA games: FIFA 14, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2 and Battlefield 4™, with more titles being added soon. That’s over $100 worth of games for $4.99 a month. You can play these EA favorites as much as you want with the click of a button."
A couple of other perks exist for members. They'll have access to trials of certain games five days before release, including 'Dragon Age: Inquisition' and EA's suite of '15 sports titles.
Also, and this is a bit indicative of how the catalogue of the Vault might work in the future, members will recieve a 10 percent discount on all digitally released EA Xbox One titles, including services like 'Battlefield Premium.' That lowers EA's incentive to include the premium programs or brand new titles in the Vault, at least in the wake of launch.
Xbox One owners can also purchase a year's worth of membership for $30, once the program officially goes live. For more on EA Access, head to the sourced link below.
