Going from announcement trailer to release date in six months.
The next game in Io-Interactive's 'Hitman' series will be hitting current-gen platforms on December 8, and the announcement trailer debuted at Sony's E3 press event this evening.
Agent 47 returns in a game creatively titled 'Hitman.' Following the series' form, 'Hitman' will task the player with assassinating well-guarded targets in interactive settings. As always, there are plenty of ways to skin a cat—or, more accurately, to kill a man.
Interestingly, the people behind the game have opted for a digital-first release format, meaning the developers will be able to push new content to players as it gets developed.
"This is new ground for 'Hitman,' coming out digital first enables us to do something new, bold, and exciting," said studio head Hannes Seifert in a press release. "We are building a live, expanding and evolving world of assassination where we continuously develop the game, listening closely to the players as we release new locations, missions and hits as soon as they are ready—where $60 and not a dollar more gets you full access to the experience."
