This is looking better and better all the time.
Koei Tecmo has released a trailer for Omega Force's upcoming 'Attack on Titan' game due out later this month, giving a close look at the combat system and story of the game. You can get a look at it right here:
Additionally, details regarding the game's storyline have been revealed. The game is a retelling of the first season of the anime for the most part, but the storyline will go beyond the show, and will feature game-exclusive missions. It isn't clear if these missions will adapt the manga or if they are entirely original, but it's cool to see that the game isn't just rehashing the series.
Lastly, pre-order incentives for the game have been announced. Koei Tecmo details them as follows:
Those who pre-order Attack on Titan from Amazon, GameStop or Best Buy will receive two different downloadable bonus costumes: The Clean-Up Eren & Levi Costumes, as well as Mikasa's Costume 'Summer Festival’. Alternatively, those who purchase on PlayStation®4 digitally through the PlayStation®Store will receive a selection of Character Avatars featuring fan-favorite characters Eren, Levi and Mikasa!
This is looking really fun. I have a lot of issues with the storyline of the show, but the gameplay here looks extremely tight, and I'm happy to see Omega Force try something a little different. I'm very excited to play it when it releases on August 30th on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Vita, and PC.
