6 Facts You Didn't Know About Queen Victoria: Number 5 Will Shock You!

We're now less than a month away from the release of 'Assassin's Creed Syndicate,' and Ubisoft has put together an interactive webpage to give fans a sneak peek into the world of Victorian London while they wait.

Dubbed "The 19th Century Search Engine," the page encourages visitors to type random search terms into the steampunk-Google interface (it gives you suggestions to get the ball rolling) and then pulls up short articles loosely pertaining to that search term. Some of the articles are lighthearted reads, like the Pistol Dueling Guide and the listicle-inspired 6 Things You Were Dying To Know About Queen Victoria.

Every search, however, will bring up one article marked with the Assassins symbol that has to do specifically with the characters of 'Assassin's Creed Syndicate.' There are articles about the exploits of the Templar characters and articles about the deeds of protagonist Jacob Frye. The search engine only responds to very specific keywords, but it's still a way for fans to glimpse the overarching story of 'Syndicate' through the eyes of Victorian civilians in the weeks before the game actually comes out.

Ubisoft has done this kind of atypical, interactive advertising before, having set up a Google Maps-inspired page for exploring the Paris of 'Assassin's Creed Unity' last year.
