'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' launch has gone well.

'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' has done well. (Check out the review here.) Exactly how well is not being disclosed by Activision, but is being described as the "biggest entertainment launch of the year, besting not only all other video games, but also the biggest movies, music and books launched in 2014."

Even just confined to box office receipts, that is an impressive statement and presumably means that 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' has already outsold 'Destiny.' Still, it's only the tip of the iceberg for the series.

From Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick, "Since Activision created the Call of Duty franchise in 2003, franchise revenues have exceeded $10 billion in sales worldwide, far exceeding box office receipts for such household movie franchises as Hunger Games, Transformers, Iron Man and Avengers, combined."

That $10 billion figure underscores how enduring the 'Call of Duty' franchise has been, and how the games have solely occupied many players as their one go-to game. For our readers, it begs the question, how much have you paid into that figure? How many 'CoD' titles have you owned?
