"Driven by an unforgettable original soundtrack."

Harmonix announced today 'A City Sleeps,' a to-the-beat side-scrolling shooter due out for PC and AC (via Steam) in October. Here's how Harmonix describes it:

"Driven by an unforgettable original soundtrack that builds through player actions and enemy engagement, A City Sleeps infuses classic twin-stick hardcore shoot ‘em up sensibilities with moment-to-moment tactical choices."

As always, Harmonix, behind 'Rock Band' and 'Dance Central,' is making music the focus. This one looks a bit more like your typical video game though.

"Level design and song authoring is done in parallel, insuring a hand crafted and utterly unique audio-experience that only Harmonix can provide. Music drives player projectiles, enemy spawning, movement, and bullet patterns."
