Could be a great addition.
Update: Nintendo nixes rumor.
From Nintendo of Canada, "In the recent interview in Canada about Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Rayman was mentioned, and this was referring to the previously announced Rayman trophy in the game."
Original post follows:
The full roster for 'Super Smash Bros.,' is the kind of thing that is being parceled out piece by piece by Nintendo. As new characters are revealed, they are almost always Nintendo characters, but of course there will be guest characters, some of whom have already been revealed. Each new playable demo features a limited cast, but even the limited cast contains non-Nintendo characters like Mega Man. In the below video it seems that the identity of another non-Nintendo playable character slips. Along with the already announced Pac-Man, Rayman is named.
Cut to the 1:50 mark to hear the relevant audio:
For now, Rayman, (of Ubisoft) remains a rumored character, but with the character's Wii U popularity (among other platforms), simple but iconic, floating hands and legs design, and propensity for fluid movement, there's little doubt that the addition would be welcome.
