'Final Fantasy VII' Remake Coming To PS4, Sony Announces At Its E3 Conference

And the crowd goes wild.

A remake of 'Final Fantasy VII' will be coming to PS4, Sony announced at its E3 press conference.

The announcement solicited what was undoubtedly the most boisterous round of applause the company received all night, and that's saying something for a conference that included 'The Last Guardian' and 'Shenmue 3' news.

The reveal video was frustratingly (and no doubt deliberately) stingy when it came to giving concrete details, but fans were able to catch a quick glimpse of Cloud Strife looking decidedly less polygon-y than his original model.

The remake announcement followed the reveal of another 'Final Fantasy' game coming to PS4, a new game titled 'World of Final Fantasy.'
