Redbox to Offer PS4 and Xbox One Disc Rentals in Select Cities

Posted Nov 14, 2013 at 06:30 AM PST by Brian Hoss

"We’re already carrying Wii U games in select cities."

In the next two weeks, two new consoles will launch, and with nearly thirty retail releases spread between the two platformss, some gamers are looking at rental options. When it comes to Redbox, there won't be massive PS4 roll-outs this Friday, but unlike when the Wii U launched, the company clearly sees the new consoles as part of their future.

Such support it seems will be trialed town by town, a system which the company is currently using to vet Wii U support. A handful of cities can expect to find PS4 and Xbox One game rentals in Redbox kiosks sometime between now and the end of the year.

From Redbox, "We’re already carrying Wii U games in select cities, and starting sometime in November or December, we’ll also start carrying PlayStation 4 and Xbox One games in a handful of cities to see how customers like them and decide if we should carry the games in other towns."
