'The Deadly Tower of Monsters' brings B-movie Thrills to PS4 and PC Next Week

The Deadly Tower of Monsters

Pretty much MST3K, the game.

Atlus and Ace Team's upcoming 'The Deadly Tower of Monsters' is out January 19th on PS4 and PC, but much of what the game's all about hasn't been made entirely clear. The basic setup revolves around an old B-movie getting a re-release on DVD, with the original director brought on for commentary. Players will take the roles of Dick Starspeed, Scarlet Nova, or The Robot (really just two terrible actors and some guy in a suit who never speaks) as they climb up the titular tower to kill the emperor of Gravoria, who has enslaved the planet's ape-man population.

The game is a single player isometric brawler boasting melee and ranged combat with a variety of skills unique to each character, as well as tons of B-movie charm enhanced by the use of intentionally terrible special effects (strings holding up a ship, stop motion enemies, etc). It seems like a charmingly made title, and it's due for release on January 19th.

We'll have a review of this on release day, so stay tuned!
