And there are lots of little ntoes.
'Grand Theft Auto V' is out today on the PS4 and Xbox One, and as promised, the new versions support GTA Online character transfer via the Rockstar Social Club. That said, there are lots of potential pitfalls for players. First off, only one character can be transferred per account. Second, transferring a character in will overwrite any new character's progress. Third, any users who bought in-game currency and is now transferring over to the opposite system (PS3 to Xbox One or 360 to PS4), any unused currency will not transfer. Likewise, all Snapmatic pictures will not transfer, but will remain accessible through the Social Club website. Finally, players can only transfer characters one time.
With all of these notes, and one time options, players might want to hold off transferring their GTA Online character for now. When GTA Online launched, lost character progress was one of its biggest reoccurring failings, and plyers should be careful with any old-gen characters that represent a serious amount of time investment.
