Blizzard Pulls Back Curtain On Next 'Hearthstone' Expansion: 'Whispers Of The Old Gods'

There has been an awakening.

The next expansion for 'Hearthstone,' titled 'Whispers of the Old Gods,' will be making its way to players near the end of April, Blizzard announced.

'Whispers of the Old Gods' will add 134 new cards to the card game, cards that draw inspiration from the Old Gods of Azeroth. The expansion includes four Legendary Old Gods cards based on the gods C'Thun, Yogg-Saron, Y'Shaarj, and N'Zoth, as well as support cards that help pump up the power of these god cards a bit more.

Once the expansion launches, the new card packs will be available in the game's Store for the same cost as previous card packs. Starting tomorrow, March 14, players will be able to pre-purchase a bundle of 50 Whispers of the Old Gods card packs for $49.99 to get a head start on adding the power of the Old Gods to their collection. This pre-purchase will also include an eldritch card back.
