Merry Christmas to you too, Nintendo.
Plenty of people are going to wake up tomorrow with a WiiU under their tree, which is reason enough to celebrate on its own. But because Nintendo doesn't settle, ever, they're also putting one of the greatest platformers ever made on the Virtual Console just in time for those new players to go download the second they have that bad boy hooked up.
'Super Mario Galaxy' will be available today on the WiiU's Virtual Console.for the low price of $19.99. Keep in mind, even though the game CAN run in the WiiU's Gamepad away from the TV, you'll need the original Wii's remote and nunchuk to play. Even if you don't have a set lying around somewhere, they're practically ubiquitous now from your local game store. if you're feeling brave, you could probably walk into one today and snag one before they close for the holiday.
The game's sequel is already on the VC for the same price and set up. It's not up to the same standard of awesomeness as its predecessor, but it's worth playing. For the folks who didn't get to play either game the first time, likely because nobody would let you take Wii Sports out under any circumstances, today is a good day.
