Dive into Azeroth's criminal underworld later this year.
At BlizzCon 2016 this weekend, Blizzard revealed the next expansion for Hearthstone, the publisher's mobile card-collecting title. Set to launch later this year, 'Mean Streets of Gadgetzan' will add 132 new cards to the game.
The expansion focuses on three criminal factions in the gang-ridden city of Gadgetzan. Players will have the opportunity to recruit members of the Grimy Goons, the Kabal, and the Jade Lotus into their decks. Each faction comes with its own gameplay quirk.
Each faction is also associated with three of the game's nine classes. The Grimy Goons claim Hunters, Paladins, and Warriors; the Kabal controls Mages, Priests, and Warlocks; and the Jade Lotus focuses on Druids, Rogues, and Shamans. This means that some neutral minions affiliated with a certain factions can only be played in specific types of decks.
For players who want to jump into the expansion with a ready collection of new cards at launch, Blizzard is offering a one-time preorder bundle of 50 'Gadgetzan' card packs for $49.99 that will unlock once the expansion releases. You can check out the reveal trailer below for a sense of the expansion's setting and theme.
