Now accepting signups for closed beta.
Looking to ride or die a little bit earlier than the rest? EA might be able to hook you up. The publisher has started taking signups for a closed Beta for their upcoming 'Need For Speed' reboot.
There's two catches to the whole thing: One, you'll need an EA/Origin account, which you should have in general, because EA is notorious for little surprises like this. Two, the Beta will be console only. Sorry PC folk. In case you're wondering, yes, the actual sign up site is localized to the UK, but the Terms and Conditions indicate the US, Canada, Europe, and Japan as the eligible countries.
Signups close on September 25th. The full game actually releases on November 3rd, so we have to assume the Beta's coming somewhere in between then. You'll probably have better luck with this than that 'Battlefront' Beta, which I assume there is a pitfighting tournament happening right this second to determine eligibility for.
You can find the latest info on 'Need For Speed' linked from our Video Game Release Schedule.
