The Man Who Killed Don Quixote

Terry Gilliam's long-delayed film inspired by Don Quixote headlines our latest roundup of upcoming Blu-ray releases.

Pre-orders are now available for several new Blu-rays from Screen Media, 20th Century Fox, Flicker Alley, Lionsgate, Well Go USA, BBC, and Blue Underground.

Here's a full rundown of recently revealed details and title announcements: 

First up, Screen Media is bringing Terry Gilliam's The Man Who Killed Don Quixote starring José Luis Ferrer, Ismael Fritschi, Juan López-Tagle, and Adam Driver to Blu-ray on June 4. Supplements have not been detailed.

 

20th Century Fox has announced plans to release Netflix's Lost in Space: Season One starring Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Parker Posey, Ignacio Serricchio, Taylor Russell, and Max Jenkins on June 4. Supplements will include:

  • Deleted Scenes
  • "No Place to Hide" – Colorized Unaired Pilot Episode from the Original (Blu-ray Exclusive)
  • Bill and Max: Lost and Found in Space
  • Bill Mumy Visits the Jupiter 2
  • Designing the Robot
  • Sizzle Reel

 

Flicker Alley is prepping Paul Leni's The Man Who Laughs starring Conrad Veidt, Mary Philbin, Olga Baclanova, Brandon Hurst, and Cesare Gravina for Blu-ray on June 4. The disc will feature a brand new 4K restoration of the film completed by NBCUniversal StudioPost, and supplements will include:

  • Paul Leni and The Man Who Laughs: A visual essay by film historian and author, John Soister, on Leni's work at Universal during this period.
  • Celebrating Universal's Masterpiece: A new booklet essay written by renowned film historian and author, Kevin Brownlow.
  • Notes On the New Score: A short essay by composer Sonia Coronado of the Berklee School of Music on their new score for The Man Who Laughs.
  • Secondary Audio Track: In addition to the new Berklee School of Music score, the film s original 1928 Movietone score presented here as a secondary audio track.
  • Rare Image Gallery: A slide show presentation of vintage marketing materials, trade ads, memorabilia and more from The Man Who Laughs, courtesy of the Reel Heroes of Film.

In addition, the label will release Paul Leni's The Last Warning starring Laura La Plante, Montagu Love, and Roy D'Arc on June 4 as well. The disc will feature a brand new 4K restoration of the film completed by NBCUniversal StudioPost, and supplements will include:

  • Paul Leni and The Last Warning: A visual essay by film historian and author, John Soister on Leni's final film.
  • Rare Image Gallery: A slide show presentation of vintage marketing materials and production stills.
  • Of Gods and Monsters : An essay excerpt from the book of the same name by historian John Soister.
  • Notes On the New Score: A short essay by composer Arthur Barrow on his new score for The Last Warning.

 

 

Lionsgate is bringing Netflix's Orange Is the New Black: The Complete Sixth Season starring Taylor Schilling, Michael Harney, Kate Mulgrew, Danielle Brooks, Uzo Aduba, and Dascha Polanco to Blu-ray on June 11. Supplements will include:

  • Audio Commentaries with Cast and Crew
  • "Linchfield to the Max" Featurette
  • Gag Reel

In addition, the studio will release Justin Baldoni's Five Feet Apart starring Haley Lu Richardson, Cole Sprouse, Parminder Nagra, Claire Forlani, and Emily Baldoni on June 11 as well. Supplements will include: 

  • Audio Commentary with Director Justin Baldoni
  • "Crossing It Off: Making Five Feet Apart" Featurette
  • "On the Set of Five Feet Apart" Featurette
  • "Attention to Detail" Featurette
  • "An Artist's Eye" Featurette
  • "Theatrical Fan Event" Footage
  • Deleted Scenes/Alternate Ending

Likewise, Richard Finn and Tim Matlby's Norm of the North: King Sized Adventure starring Lisa Durupt, Vincent Tong, Jonathan Holmes, Lee Tockar, and Michael Dobson is also on deck for June 11. Supplements have not been detailed.

Meanwhile, David Robert Mitchell's Under the Silver Lake starring Andrew Garfield, Sydney Sweeney, Riley Keough, Jimmi Simpson, and Laura-Leigh Claire will then follow on June 18. Supplements will include:

  • "What Lies Under the Silver Lake" Featurette
  • "Beautiful Specter" Featurette

And rounding out Lionsgate's upcoming lineup will be John Stalberg Jr.'s Crypto starring Kurt Russell, Luke Hemsworth, Alexis Bledel, Vincent Kartheiser, and Beau Knapp on June 18. Supplements have not been detailed.

 

 

 

 

 

Well Go USA is set to release Aleksey Sidorov's T-34 starring Alexander Petrov, Irina Starshenbaum, and Viktor Dobronravov on Blu-ray on June 11. Supplements will include:

  • Original Theatrical Trailer

Likewise, the label is preparing Kang Hyoung-Chul's Swing Kids starring Jared Grimes, Doh Kyung-Soo, and Park Hye-Su for Blu-ray on June 18. No supplements are currently listed for the disc.

In addition, Le-Van Kiet's Furie starring Pham Anh Khoa, Veronica Ngo, and Thanh Nhien Phan will then follow on June 25. Supplements will include:

  • Behind the scenes
  • Trailer

And rounding out Well Go USA's upcoming lineup will be Lun Su's How Long Will I Love U starring Jiayin Lei, Liya Tong, and Ming Fan on August 6. Supplements have not been detailed yet.

 

 

 

 

BBC is bringing Killing Eve: Season Two starring Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Kim Bodnia, Fiona Shaw, Owen McDonnell, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste to Blu-ray on June 18. Supplements have not been detailed at this time.

 

Blue Underground is prepping The New York Ripper: 3-Disc Limited Edition starring Jack Hedley, Almanta Suska, Howard Ross, Andrea Occhipinti, and Alexandra Delli Colli for Blu-ray on June 25. The release will feature a brand new and exclusive 4K restoration of the film and an original motion picture soundtrack CD by Francesco De Masi. Supplements will include:

  • Audio Commentary with Troy Howarth, Author of Splintered Visions: Lucio Fulci and His Films
  • The Art Of Killing - Interview with Co-Writer Dardano Sacchetti
