Coming Soon to Blu-ray: THE HANDMAID'S TALE: SEASON 2, WHITE BOY RICK, and More

The second season of the award-winning Hulu series is heading to Blu-ray.

New info has been revealed for several upcoming Blu-rays from MGM, Universal, VCI, Massacre Video, FilmRise, Altered Innocence, Raro Video, Briarcliff Entertainment, Cinema Guild, Sony, Grasshopper Film, and HBO.

Here's a full rundown of recently revealed details and title announcements: 

First up, MGM will release Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale: Season 2 starring Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, and Yvonne Strahovski on December 4. Supplements will include:

  • Season Two: Off Book
  • Dressing Dystopia

 

Universal is prepping Chris Weitz's Operation Finale starring Oscar Isaac, Haley Lu Richardson, Mélanie Laurent, Nick Kroll, and Ben Kingsley for Blu-ray on December 4. Supplements will include:

  • Inside the Operation
  • Feature Commentary with Director Chris Weitz

As previously reported, the studio is also bringing Pierre Morel's Peppermint starring Jennifer Garner, John Gallagher Jr., John Ortiz, and Richard Cabral to Blu-ray, and now the release date has been announced as December 11. Supplements will include:

  • Justice
  • Feature Commentary by Director Pierre Morel

 

 

VCI is bringing Paul Aaron's The Miracle Worker starring Patty Duke, Diana Muldaur, and Charles Siebert to Blu-ray on December 11. No other details are currently listed for the disc.

In addition, the label will also release Tailspin Tommy in the Great Air Mystery starring Clark Williams, Noah Beery Jr., Jean Rogers, and Delphine Drew on December 11. Supplements have not been detailed, but the disc has been digitally remastered and restored from the original 35mm fine grain.

 

 

Massacre Video has announced plans to release Don Dohler's Fiend: Collector's Edition starring Don Leifert, George Stover, Greg Dohler, Steve Frith, and Pam Dohler on December 11. The film will feature a brand new 2K scan from the original 16mm A/B rolls, and supplements will include:

  • Brand new audio commentary featuring actor George Stover and cinematographer Richard Geiwitz, moderated by Cinema Arcana's Bruce Holecheck.
  • On Fiend: Archival interviews with actors Don Leifert, Greg Dohler and Kim Dohler-Pfeiffer.
  • The 8mm Shorts of Don Dohler - newly transferred in HD.
  • Mr. Clay, Pursed: Horrors from the ID and TO DIE… OR NOT TO DIE.
  • Newly transferred in 2k blooper reel.
  • English captions.
  • Extensive image gallery.
  • Massacre Video trailers.

 

FilmRise is prepping Matthew Newton's Who We Are Now (Special Edition) starring Julianne Nicholson, Emma Roberts, and Zachary Quinto for Blu-ray on December 11. Supplements will include:

  • Theatrical Trailer

In addition, the label will release Simon Baker's Breath: Special Edition starring Simon Baker, Samson Coulter, Ben Spence, and Elizabeth Debicki on January 22. Supplements will include:

  • Behind-the-Scenes Stills
  • Theatrical Trailer
  • Q&A with Director Simon Baker & Producers Mark Johnson and Tom Williams

 

 

Altered Innocence has announced plans to release Bertrand Mandico's The Wild Boys starring Pauline Lorillard, Vimala Pons, Diane Rouxel, and Anaël Snoek on December 11. Supplements will include:

  • Behind the Scenes. 
  • Deleted Scenes. 
  • Foldout Poster Insert. 
  • Reversible Artwork. 
  • Original Theatrical Trailer. 
  • Teaser Trailer. 
  • Other Trailers. 

 

Cinema Guild is bringing Jeff Malmberg's documentary Marwencol: Special Edition to Blu-ray on December 18. Supplements will include:

  • The Lost Scenes
  • Seven Additional Marwencol Story Sequences
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Mark's Reaction to the Film
  • Mark at the "Red Carpet" Premiere
  • Photo Gallery
  • Theatrical Trailer
  • Booklet featuring an essay by film critic Eric Hynes

 

Raro Video is prepping Massimo Dallamano's The Secret of Dorian Gray starring Helmut Berger, Richard Todd, and Herbert Lom for Blu-ray on December 18. The film will feature a new remaster from the original 35mm negative. Supplements will include:

  • Interview with the assistant director Maurizio Tanfani
  • A fully illustrated booklet

 

Briarcliff Entertainment is set to release Michael Moore's documentary Fahrenheit 11/9  on December 18. There are no supplements currently listed for the disc.

 

As previously reported, Sony is prepping Yann Demange's White Boy Rick starring Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Eddie Marsan for Blu-ray, and now the release date has been announced as December 25. Supplements will include:

  • 6 Deleted Scenes
  • “The Unknown True Story of Rick Wershe Jr.”
  • “The Three Tribes of Detroit: The Cast”
  • “The Making of White Boy Rick”Feature
  • Trivia Track

 

Grasshopper Film has announced plans to bring Jean-Marie Straub and Daniele Huillet's Chronicle of Anna Magdalena Bach starring Gustav Leonhardt and Paolo Carlini to Blu-ray on January 29. The disc will feature a new digital restoration and supplements will include:

  • Jean-Marie Straub introduces "Chronicle" at the Swiss Film Archive (2013, 34 minutes)
  • Interview with actress Christiane Lang Drewanz (2012, 30 minutes)
  • The Cinema of Straub & Huillet, an introduction by author Alicia Malone for FilmStruck (5 minutes)
  • "The Bridegroom, The Actress, and The Pimp" (1968, 23 minutes), a short film by Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet featuring Rainer Werner Fassbinder
  • "The Mother" (2011, 20 minutes), a short film by Jean-Marie Straub
  • Theatrical Trailer

 

HBO is preparing Ballers: The Complete Fourth Season starring Dwayne Johnson, John David Washington, and Omar Benson Miller for Blu-ray on January 29. Supplements have not been announced yet.

In addition, the network is bringing The Deuce: The Complete Second Season starring James Franco, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Gbenga Akinnagbe to Blu-ray on February 5. Supplements have not been detailed at this time.
