The cable company is offering a new way to watch live TV.

Comcast has detailed its latest TV watching option. Dubbed "Stream," the upcoming web-based platform allows users to watch live TV channels on their mobile devices and computers without a traditional cable subscription.

Stream will only be available for Xfinity internet customers and will provide in-home playback for around a dozen live networks, including all of the major broadcast channels and HBO. Likewise, the service will also offer a library of on-demand content, TV Everywhere access, and a cloud DVR to record programs. The app will support tablets, smartphones, and computers.

Comcast Stream will initially launch in Boston this summer and will then expand to Chicago and Seattle. The company plans to cover all of its markets by early 2016. Xfinity internet users will be able to subscribe to Stream for an additional $15 per month.
