You can't explain it, you can't predict it! Buying the 4K won't bring your dad back... but it might vastly improve your home video collection! Starring Helen Hunt and the late great Bill Paxton, Jan de Bont's 'Twister' will finally come home to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray in HDR with Atmos audio!

As this summer keeps dropping real-life tornados throughout the midwest, Warner Bros is capitalizing on the upcoming Twisters delivering one of the most highly-entertaining disaster films of the '90s. As many of you may remember all too well, the original Blu-ray release of Twister was something of a waxy DNR-riddled disaster. For years fans have been clamoring for a new and better release and it's finally here. Now we still don't know HDR grade for this (HDR10 base is guaranteed), the transfer has been overseen by director Jan de Bont and it will come with Atmos audio (thanks to the back artwork photo on Amazon) with some new and archival extra features.

The Twister 4K UHD Disc includes the following new and previously released special features:

  • The Legacy of Twister – Taken by the Wind (NEW)
  • Chasing the Storm: Twister Revisited
  • Anatomy of a Twister
  • The Making of Twister
  • Van Halen Music Video – Humans Being
  • Commentary by director Jan de Bont and visual effects supervisor Stefen Fangmeier

Both the Standard Edition and SteelBook of Twister are up for pre-order! Now we know Germany's Turbine will be doing Their own release for the European markets - the film is owned by Universal over there. We don't know the specs for that edition yet, but when we do, obviously we'll let you all know. Happy Collecting!
