YouTube and Google Play Add Paramount Movies Despite Lawsuit

Posted Apr 6, 2012 at 11:00 AM PDT by Dick Ward

Titles like 'Hugo,' 'The Adventures of Tintin,' and 'Captain America' are now available to rent.

Google Play and YouTube have just added around 500 Paramount movies to their rental collection including titles like 'Hugo,' 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off' and 'The Godfather.' Classic titles run $3.99 for HD and $2.99 for SD while the new stuff comes in at $4.99 and $3.99 respectively.

What's particularly interesting about this is that Google is currently involved in a significant lawsuit with Paramount's parent company Viacom about who is at fault for all the copyright infringing user content on YouTube.
