Mobile android users can now watch VR YouTube videos.
Google has announced the addition of Virtual Reality support to its YouTube Android app. Smartphone users with a Google Cardboard viewer can now watch VR videos through YouTube.
VR videos on YouTube offer an immersive experience that allows viewers to look around in every direction with a true sense of depth. Users simply need to tap the Cardboard icon on supported VR videos and then drop their phones into the Google Cardboard viewer. Current VR videos include The Hunger Games Experience and TOMS Shoes Giving Trip. Click here for a list of VR videos currently on YouTube. In addition to native VR content, the app also now allows Google Cardboard owners to watch any YouTube video in a virtual movie theater environment.
The updated YouTube Android app with VR support is now available for download from Google Play.
