In an online interview, director William Friedkin has revealed that he will begin work on a high-def version of 'The Exorcist' for Blu-ray release in 2009.
Speaking to DVD Review UK, the Oscar-winning director confirmed that Warner is planning to start preparations in early December for a new edition of the 1973 horror classic.
Friedkin had no further details on supplements or restoration plans for what is sure to be a highly-anticipated release, but we expect further word to emerge over the coming months.
According to the director, Warner is currently eyeing a Fall 2009 Blu-ray release for 'The Exorcist.' As always, we'll keep you posted.
In anticipation of a future announcement for 'The Exorcist,' we've added a listing for the title to the "Release Dates Pending" section of our Blu-ray Release Schedule. Stay tuned.
