'Poseidon' to Turn Upside-Down This December

The first of this summer's big-budget event pictures to hit HD DVD,
Warner Home Video has set a December 5 sail date for the box office underachiever
'
Poseidon.'
Though the Wolfgang Petersen-directed remake of the 1970 classic action-adventure
film 'The Poseidon Adventure' failed to achieve blockbuster status earlier this
summer (grossing a modest $60 million at the domestic box office), Warner will
give the film lavish treatment on HD DVD. Boasting the same extras as the two-disc
standard DVD edition (due a full four months earlier on August 22), the set will include three in-depth documentaries on
the making of the film, a History Channel television special, theatrical trailers
and more to be announced.
Warner will also present the film in 1080p video with English and French Dolby Digital-Plus soundtracks.
Retail for
the HD DVD version will be $34.99.
